This is a series of seven medium-format portraits combining traditional German traditional costumes with fetish accessories. The project entwines these two seemingly disparate worlds, merged in the German capital, and explores themes of tradition, history, identity, sexuality, and time. The accessories were created by using hand-embroidered textiles from the stylist’s family possession from several generations. TRACHTEN reimagines German attire; A style that suits the radical changes that happened over time in this country.
