“I wanted to find that magical combination of maxed out romance, a luxurious feel and youthful cheekiness,” says Swedish designer and couturier Ida Sjöstedt about her third collection for Monki. She continues, “It’s full of sweet pastels, electric cornflower blue, soft materials and just as soft silhouettes—these are clothes to have fun in.”.

Monki describes choice to continuing to collaborate with Ida as a natural choice, “Ida doesn’t just design clothes; she creates imaginary worlds. Just like Monki. So we thought, what would happen if we let those two worlds collide?”

If you know your Ida Sjöstedt you can easyally, just as Monki, see that this is a collab made to work. The aesthetic of the two is a good match and the signature romantic design with it’s pastellic colours of Ida Sjöstedt works fantastic with Monki’s costumers.

Ida Sjöstedt is known for her dreamy dresses made out of lace and tulle. For this collection she left both of these and went for prints. The collection contains nine garments, described to be designed for a good time. The especially design print comes in a soft yellow and turquoise and in a more electric blue with a hint of pink. One of the key items is the maxi dress; a romantic piece that’s also comes in a shorter, sleeveless version. The collection also contains a pair of pants with a matching tee and a pair of shorts with a tee.

Monki’s head of design Sofia Wallin are exited about the launch of this capsule; “Its romantic tone is spot-on for this season, and we think our Monki girls will love its luxe fantasy feel”.
