Italian collagist Claudio Parentela simultaneously defies and embraces the digital age as he mixes mediums to create his colorful works. By using everything he can get his hands on, he creates disorienting compositions that merge high fashion imagery with his own DIY zine aesthetic.
Parentela’s playful style brings these portraits to life as they toe the line between dada and pop art. Spontaneous and energetic, the raw layering of his collages gives us a bit of insight into what is going through the artist’s mind.
Parentela has been an active member of the underground art scene for many years now as an illustrator, painter, photographer, mail artist, cartoonist and collagist. His mixed media collages are featured on many online galleries and he has been presented and published internationally.
